Doctor Ownership Model
Appointment and consultation restrictions depend on which doctor profile is linked to the authenticated user.
- Doctor-linked users get queue actions only for their own checked-in appointments.
- Consultation doctor fields are auto-locked when the appointment already defines the owner.
- Schedule controls still drive calendar visibility and availability constraints.
Workflow
Doctor Setup And Verification
- Create or select the staff user and link exactly one intended doctor profile.
- Set clinic, specialty, consultation duration, schedule, break, and availability rules.
- Verify the doctor appears only in eligible appointment slots for the active clinic.
- Sign in as the doctor and confirm the queue is limited to assigned, checked-in appointments.
- Open a consultation from the queue and confirm ownership is locked to the appointment doctor.
Safety check: Never treat a visible doctor name as proof of access. Test list, direct URL, update, and consultation actions with a non-admin doctor account.
Operations
Common Checks
- No bookable slots: confirm clinic membership, active status, schedule timezone, breaks, leave, and appointment duration.
- Wrong queue: confirm the authenticated user is linked to the intended doctor profile and tenant.
- Ownership cannot change: appointments with a defined doctor intentionally lock consultation ownership.
- Cross-clinic record: stop and verify the active tenant before editing; doctor and patient records are clinic-local.
